From Bone to Bamboo to Fungus: Three Ways Engineers Are Copying Nature to Build Sustainable Materials
Engineers are adopting three distinct bio-inspired strategies to create sustainable materials: mimicking nature's structures for strength, emulating natural processes like photosynthesis for energy, and building with living systems like fungi for biodegradable alternatives. Understanding these approaches is key to advancing sustainable construction, energy, and waste reduction.
